This relaxing half-day tour is the best way to experience the culture, history and domestic products of the southernmost region in Croatia. After visiting Dubrovnik's natural highlights and best photo-points like spring of river Ombla, Franjo Tuđman bridge and Mt. Srđ, we will continue south along the coastline while your guide explains the history of our city and the importance of our next stopping point – the small town of Cavtat and ruins of ancient Epidaurum. Spend some time exploring Cavtat before we drive further south into the fertile Konavle valley and see why it has traditionally been the number one food producing region for southern Croatia. We will make a stop at Konavoski Dvori to see old mills that were turning raw produce into exportable goods for over 500 years. We will visit the source of Konavle's natural irrigation system, the River Ljuta, which is Croatian for “Angry”. We will look up at the tallest peak in southern Croatia, Sniježnica, which comes from the Croatian word for “snow”. We will even see a medieval watchtower from 1391 named “Sokol” after the Croatian word for “hawk”. Each of these natural and man-made landmarks were important in writing the history of Konavle, but they are equally important in keeping cultural traditions alive. For the end of tour we will visit small fishing village Molunat with beautiful sandy beach where you can take a swim. Because this is a completely private tour, we are on your schedule.
