Since the time of the Roman Empire, Ston has possessed one of the most important salt factories in the Mediterranean. In the ancient times the inhabitants build stone walls all around their town and all the way to the neighboring village, Mali Ston, to protect it. Town of Ston was one of the first urban planned towns in medieval Europe.

Walk the iconic Mostar bridge, which gave city its name, (“most” is Croatian for “bridge”) and still separates the Muslim and Christian sides of town. Take a look of small bridge „Kriva ćuprija“, the Koski Mehmed Paša Mosque, buy souvenirs at the famous Bazar, and enjoy Bosnian delicacy called ćevapi for lunch.
